20th December 2008 --- Maroon liveried D1015 Western Champion disguised as D1032 Western Marksman hauls the 1Z81 London Liverpool Street to Great Yarmouth via Bury, Cambridge, Ely, Thetford and Reedham. I photographed the train passing Shepreth Junction which is just south of Cambridge and is where the Liverpool Street/Audley End line joins up with the line from London Kings Cross/Welwyn. The wizzo was running nearly 20minutes early at this point. The Pathfinder tour orginally started from Swindon as the 1Z80 with 67005, the western took over at London Liverpool Street. Many thanks to GWOT, CNUT and others for the updates. SEARCH for more photographs of D1015 Western Champion --- Other December Collections D1015_Shepreth_Junction.jpg |

I was looking forward to this weekend, and in the end it didn't disappoint. Firstly I didn't get any shots in rain and they were all in brightness despite the weather forecast. At Shepreth Junction, I photographed the Wizzo on tour to East Anglia where I was lucky not to have the sun out as It was directly infront of me. I then photographed Sir Nigel Gresley near Shepreth Junction (Thanks to IB for the location info) also heading for East Anglia in some brightness. Then on the way home, I stopped in at Worcester Shrub Hill to see Colas Rail, 47739 Robin of Templecombe where it was stabled there after recently running light engine from Derby. Many thanks to Mr Riley as always for the info. |
